How long will it take to be able to use a language?

This is probably the question we are asked most often and the one which is most difficult to answer. What we need to know in order to be able to give you a sensible anwer is where you are now and where you need to be. What do you want to be able to do in the other language? Chat / negotiate / read newspapers / order meals ? We also need to consider your language learning history and the language you want to study. If you know Italian and want to learn Spanish that is a different situation to learning Chinese from scratch. The best thing is to talk to us and we will take you through an assessment process, at the end of which we"ll be able to give you a pretty accurate answer!

UIC Languages

What kinds of courses do you offer?

At our London school we offer group classes - 2 hours once a week for 10 weeks. We also offer individual classes and small closed grou classes - for a small number of colleagues or friends at the same level.

Is UIC accredited by anyone?

The teaching of Foreign languages is not regulated by any official organisation. UIC is also an English language school and as such is accredited by the British Council. The inspection criteria include facilities and resources and we use exactly the same for teacher English and Other languages. UIC London (the English school) is also an award-winning school, being one of only 2 schools ever to win the prestigious British Council ELTon award for innovation in language teaching. We got this for our radio station where students make programmes - The Communiaiton Station. We are also a Highly Trusted Sponsor of the UKBA for purposes of issuing student visas.

UIC is a member of the Association for Language Learning

Why UIC rather than another organisation?

UIC is a langauge school. We are not an agency just putting teachers in touch with you. As such we are here all day to talk to you, and you can always come in and meet us. We have been running our own language courses for 10 years and have designed courses, managed teachers and most importantly taught thousands of students ourselves. Come and visit our school anytime.
